Michigan Youth Correctional Facility

Construction of the 168,000 SF Michigan Youth Correctional Facility complex began in April of 1998 and was completed, on schedule, in July of 1999. One month later (August 1999), the first inmates arrived.
Today, this ultra functional, secure, state-of-the-art facility has the potential to house 480 inmates, employs over 300 individuals (new jobs), and serves as a clear indication of what can be accomplished when government and private enterprises work cooperatively together.
