This award-winning project (6 major awards for project excellence) was
constructed on a brownfield site in the heart of the city. In addition
to an extremely tight site, the project included the historical
renovation / restoration of an attached 1930s-vintage post office
building which now serves as the headquarters' main entrance / lobby
and accommodates an employee cafeteria, various size meeting rooms and
a commons area.
Granger served in a Design-Build capacity on this $65.3 million project
which featured a 12-story office building (structural concrete frame
supported by drilled piers) and an adjacent parking structure. Granger
self-performed all concrete work (365,000 SF).
The headquarters now hosts 1500 employees previously working out of
numerous locations throughout mid-Michigan. The project served as the
catalyst for the rebirth (renaissance) of downtown Jackson.
