US ACE - Administration Building and Parking Structure, Detroit Arsenal
Warren, Michigan
Granger Construction was selected by the US Army Corps of Engineers to design and construct the Administration Building and Parking Structure Project at the Detroit Arsenal (TACOM) located in Warren, Michigan. This project will be completed for turnover in spring 2011.
Utilizing a fast-track, phased Design-Build approach, an approximately 227,000 SF Administrative Facility will be constructed to house 1,100 office personnel. The building will include a walkway connection to a neighboring building and will employ Energy Management Controls.
The Administrative Building and other components of the Detroit Arsenal will be supported by an approximately 583,500 SF Parking Structure which will provide spaces for approximately 1,800 privately owned and government vehicles.
Extensive site up-grades and utilities will be necessary to service these new buildings as well as other under construction and future BRAC buildings at this site. Also, several temporary parking lots will replace the existing parking lots to accommodate the new construction, and Pershing and Eisenhower Drives will be widened.
Granger selected Neumann Smith Architecture as the lead Designer/Architect for the Administration Building and Carl Walker Parking as lead Designer/Engineer for the Parking Structure.
