LCC | University Center
Lansing, Michigan
Granger is proud to be serving Lansing Community College as the Construction Manager on this $11 million project and has been actively involved in it since early programming began in July 2005. The location of the project is at the corner of Capital and Shiawassee; in the heart of downtown Lansing. Construction mobilization took place in September of 2006 and completion is slated for October of 2007.
This 40,000 SF project consists, generally, of renovating the existing 18,000 SF historical (circa 1903) Carnegie Library and constructing a new 22,000 SF addition to it.
The renovation consists of completely removing all existing systems and the installation of new systems and finishes, with a focus on maintaining the structure’s historical ambiance—especially as it relates to the building’s exterior.
The new addition is being constructed with modern materials and a look to compliment the existing building. The University Center will host classrooms and administration areas which will enable LCC to support its 4-Year University Partners in their quest to provide further education to LCC students.
