This brownfield site included the redevelopment of a 15 acre city block with new parking and landscaping to create a beautiful new campus setting for their existing R & D and administrative operations in Southfield.
The new signature building is three stories and 105,000 SF. The enclosure is entirely glass with terracotta tile partially on the first floor perimeter. The first floor lobby, cafeteria, and conference rooms have super clear glass, a feature unique in Michigan.
The curtainwall system has an elegant glass sun screen on the north and east sides of the building and horizontal sun shades on the south and west elevations.
The lobby features a glass monumental staircase and wood paneling along with limestone, marble, and granite floors.
Included in the project are custom executive offices, conference rooms and a corporate board room. The building also includes a 300 seat auditorium with state-of-the-art communications and audio/visual systems. Custom lighting is used throughout and two custom traction elevators serve the three story office building.
The project also entailed a $5 million second phase with a 40,000 SF expansion and renovations to the existing Research & Development Facility showcasing new products and prototypes.
