With construction of this 110,000 SF National Scientific Center
starting in the winter, Granger's team worked around inclement weather
by protecting the sub-grade through the usage of insulated blankets so
that concrete could be poured in the months of March and April. This
approach led to the ability to maintain and meet the critical
structural framing schedule.
The core of this three-story $19 million Science Center is comprised of laboratory and research space. Professional office/meeting areas surround the core scientific spaces on all three levels.
One of the challenges successfully met on the project was the
coordination and installation of various lab gases while ensuring
public safety from potential exposure to toxic chemicals.
