D.K. Shine Water Treatment Plant

The City of Wyoming's D.K. Shine Water Treatment Plant's groundbreaking, held June 8, 2007, signified the beginning of a $70 million expansion and renovation project. In addition to servicing the City of Wyoming, popultation71,000, this plant also serves an area from Lake Michigan east to Kentwood, bringing the total number of customers to almost 210,000.

Planned water output will increase from 90 million gallons to 120 million gallons per day or five million gallons per hour which equates to 1,400 gallons per second.

The South Treatment Plant expansion is projected to be completed in 2009 and the Administrative and Laboratory expansion in 2010.
