In the fall of 2003, Granger Construction started the restoration of the Mason United Methodist Church in Mason, Michigan. This project involved multiple phases, including three additions, one of which is a three story, 30,000 square foot masonry bearing with hollow core precast floor decks.

The main purpose of this large addition was to accommodate the handicap, elderly members and guests of the church. The other two additions were small, which revised the north and northwest entries to the existing church.

New construction on this project included:

  • Nursery for the church child care program
  • Barrier-free restrooms on all three floors
  • Elevator
  • Library on the top floor

Renovations were done to the existing church building, including the day care, office area and restrooms.

Numerous additions have been made since the 1800’s. The front addition was a
replica of the original church structure that was demolished years ago.
