Employee Spotlight: Matt Bozung – Celebrating 10 Years of Strategic Growth and People-First Leadership

In the fast-paced world of construction, where timelines are tight and talent is everything, having a strong Human Resources leader can make all the difference. For the past decade, Matt Bozung has been that difference-maker at Granger Construction where he serves as HR Director.

Since joining the company just over 10 years ago, Matt has helped guide the organization through a period of remarkable growth—doubling the number of full-time employees and laying the foundation for a resilient, people-centered culture.

“When I joined the company, we began developing a strategic vision for growth that was centered around our people rather than the bottom line,” Matt reflects. “We needed to build our workforce, but it was just as important to create a workplace people wanted to be part of.”

As the company has grown, Matt has worked closely with other corporate leaders to align HR strategy with business goals. From thoughtful recruitment efforts to implementing robust internship, onboarding and retention programs, his work has ensured that Granger attracts and retains top talent in a competitive industry.

Matt provides steady leadership and helps guide the company through industry shifts, organizational changes, policy updates and workforce planning. He plays a key role in developing internal policies and compliance frameworks that support first-class benefits, training and long-term workforce development—critical pillars in the construction industry.

“Beyond the numbers, Matt is a culture champion within the Granger organization,” says Granger President Dennis Carignan. “He has been a driving force behind employee engagement and high-performing teams initiatives and has helped define core values and create feedback channels that give every employee a voice. His leadership has helped foster a workplace where people feel supported, heard and are empowered to grow.”

As the company continues to grow and evolve, Matt remains focused on the future—developing the next generation of leaders, refining talent strategies and helping to ensure the company remains a great place to work.

“My goal has always been to create systems and a culture that support both our people and our business,” says Matt. “The best part of my job is seeing the organization thrive through the accomplishments of its people. When our people succeed, our company succeeds.”

Matt’s ability to anticipate HR needs and proactively address challenges has been a cornerstone of Granger’s resilience and adaptability. With over a decade of service, his contributions have helped shape not just Granger’s workforce, but its identity as an employer of choice in the construction industry.
