Granger Construction managed construction of the Michigan Youth Correctional Facility complex in Baldwin, Michigan. Our team began work in April of 1998. We finished on schedule in July of 1999. One month later, the first inmates arrived.

The Michigan Youth Correctional Facility project resulted in a 168,000 SF, state-of-the-art, high security complex for juveniles. Upon completion, this facility had capacity to house 480 inmates. It also created new employment opportunities for over 300 individuals. In all, this project’s success offers a model of what can be accomplished when government and private enterprises work together cooperatively.
