Granger provided pre-construction, estimating, design review, BIM management and construction services for the new Jackson YMCA facility in downtown Jackson.

The team worked in an occupied site and partnered with Henry Ford Health System to provide rehabilitation health services within the building.

The new facility, which involved a combination of new construction and renovations to the existing facility, features natural lighting making the facility brighter, a new kids area, a new play space and an outdoor play structure.

A third floor was added to the existing building, greatly increasing accessibility to the indoor track.

The project also provided a universal locker room, a youth STEM (science, technology, engineering arts and math) lab, licensed childcare as well as an enhanced aquatics center with updated equipment and improved accessibility.

The project began with demolition of two external properties in their existing parking lot create additional space for parking.
