Based on our recent experience with Integrated Project Delivery and our reputation for successfully meeting municipal client needs on difficult construction projects, Granger was selected as the County’s IPD partner for a new Family Justice Center to be constructed on the County’s complex in West Olive.
This project involved a fast-tracked buyout to start sitework and building structure in early spring 2022 while design continued through June, 2022. The IPD team provided a target value estimate at schematic design, which functions similar to a guaranteed maximum price, to fix project costs. Granger worked with our IPD partners – DLZ Michigan, Allied Mechanical Services, Buist Electric, Accurate Controls and Steel Supply & Engineering – to develop the budget, schedule and scope as well as complete design for the project.
The project involved construction of a new facility that houses the County’s Friend of the Court, juvenile court and support staff for children involved in family court cases. Additionally, increased office space, conference rooms and holding cells were included. The County’s facilities in Grand Haven and at the West Olive complex lacked space for typical court functions and appropriate meeting spaces for staff as well as attorneys and clients. The West Olive facility also had security issues, limited lobby space and a lack of accessible restrooms, among other things.
