Our Approach

Every construction project has unique goals and needs, so it is important for us to work with all stakeholders to establish clear communication and ensure the right fit. It is part of our culture to establish clarity in our vision for success and then build a unified team to achieve that success. Clear and concise project goals, expertly written bid categories, clear and fair subcontracts, effective scheduling, disciplined meetings, open communications, fair onsite logistics and project leadership are among the many tools we effectively use to achieve exceptional performance. In the end, though, this is a people business. We secure performance by modeling and developing an attitude and culture of success from concept through completion.
A successful bid day goes beyond adding subcontractors to our bidder list. We want to ensure we are creating the right fit for everyone:
- We conduct early bidder outreach to build excitement for projects and help subcontractors plan.
- We continue outreach during the bidding process to ensure bidders remain engaged.
- We customize bid packages and scopes to ensure they are based on project needs.
- We utilize BuildingConnected, a user-friendly tool that helps us maintain an ethical bid process.
- We strive to ensure bidders have access to everything they need to provide an accurate and competitive number on bid day.
Expanding our subcontractor network to increase diversity has been a key priority at Granger. We understand the significant and increasing role that DEI plays on our projects, in our industry and in our world. Our commitment and approach to DEI during trade procurement includes engaging and encouraging diverse trade contractors and suppliers and ensuring our projects provide opportunities for diverse and local firms to participate in an impactful way:
- We are committed to creating a visible and accessible bid process with early and open communication.
- We continue to expand our network and communicate with organizations that support xBE subcontractors.
- We create bid packages and scopes that maximize participation.
- We continually strive to identify, remove and reduce administrative and other roadblocks.
- We utilize data to track our progress and inform our approach across all projects.
Granger conducts all subcontractor bidding through Building Connected. To be considered for prequalification, prospective partners are also asked to complete and return our Subcontractor Prequalification Form, along with all necessary supplemental materials specified.
Delivering a quality project requires a team of committed contractors and tradespeople, all focused on a common goal. We know there is intangible value to having local contractors perform work on our projects, so we continually develop our extensive network that includes a variety of both local trades and trusted partners. While building these relationships, we also strive to ensure the projects we represent are opportunities our partners are eager to bid.
