In the fall of 2012, Consumers Energy partnered with Granger to construct a new 33,000 square foot Technical Training Facility addition to their JH Campbell Facility.

The new facility offers classrooms, a business center, conference rooms, office space and an auditorium. It also provides various shops and labs for training in welding, machine repair and maintenance, instrumentation reading, energy systems, electrical meter services and electrical maintenance.

The modern industrial equipment and functionally optimized shops help improve the job skills and safety awareness of utility workers through hands-on training on equipment common to the industry.

Other features include in this addition:

  • One 7-ton crane and two 3-ton cranes in the
    welding lab’s high-bay areas
  • Credit Union
  • Wellness Room
  • Emergency Generator
  • EV Charging Stations for electric cars
  • Loading Dock
  • 3 overhead doors for training equipment
