PHASE 1
Norplas Industries, Inc., a manufacturing division of the Aurora, Ontario-based Magna Exteriors and Interiors, selected Granger Construction for its new state-of-the-art robotic paint line and injection molding manufacturing facility. Owner supplied equipment consisting of automated paint line, mold presses, and metrology lab equipment was successfully coordinated within the BIM model.
The Design-Build project, one of the largest new manufacturing facilities built in the region in the past 15 years, was fast-tracked for completion in 13 months.
The building includes a two-story, 10,000 SF administrative office area. Other features include:
- 6 truck/trailer docks
- 4 drive-in bays
- Room for a 100,000 SF future expansion
Granger Construction self-performed approximately 7,500 cubic yards of concrete on this project.
PHASE 2
In 2015, Granger was contracted to construct a 110,000 s.f. addition to the existing plant with the following features:
- 4,000 s.f. office space
- 106,000 s.f. of assembly area
- 86-car parking lot and 20,000 s.f. asphalt storage space
