Meet Presley Fortino, a Project Engineer Intern with Granger Construction’s 2025 Summer Internship Program. This summer, Presley joined the Westville Correctional Facility project in Westville, IN, where he gained hands-on experience working on a $1 billion joint venture job.
Presley was drawn to Granger by its strong culture and community involvement. “What stood out to me was the culture and the ability you have to adjust your internship based on your career goals,” he said. “Also, I wanted to be a part of a company that helps make a change not only in construction but also in the community. I experienced this with the service day we did—a backpack and food drive. Granger is always giving back, and I love to see that.”

No two days were the same for Presley. His responsibilities included reviewing submittals and RFIs, leading subcontractor meetings twice a week, tracking down drawings and pricing, and taking daily progress photos across the site. “BIM models, Bluebeam, pull planning and OpenSpace are big parts of my job,” he explained. “Every day is a new opportunity to learn and grow more. I love seeing the project come together. I love being able to contribute and know that my work is meaningful and it is helping the team. My team keeps me motivated with their positive spirit they have every day, as well as knowing how much I can learn and grow.”
Working on a joint venture project gave Presley a deeper appreciation for collaboration. “Teamwork and collaboration are essential, and without these, this project would not be able to run,” he said.
