As the inaugural school year draws to a close, the new Dimondale Elementary School in Holt Public Schools stands as a testament to thoughtful design, community investment, and a shared commitment to student success.

The new 63,000 square-foot, two-story facility replaces the original 1950s-era school and introduces an inspiring environment. Designed to support modern learning and foster a strong sense of belonging, the new school reflects the district’s vision for future-ready education. From flexible classroom environments that adapt to different teaching styles, to collaborative common areas that encourage creativity and connection, every detail supports an engaging and inclusive educational experience.
What truly sets this building apart is the breadth of new amenities that elevate both learning and community pride. The school features a full-size gymnasium, a modern cafeteria and playground, a welcoming library, two new baseball fields and updated, secure entryways. The building is also equipped with state-of-the-art classroom technology and upgraded audiovisual systems, empowering educators with the tools they need to deliver dynamic, interactive instruction.

Natural light fills classrooms and shared spaces, creating an inviting atmosphere that promotes focus and well-being, while improved building systems deliver greater comfort and long-term sustainability, along with the ability to remotely monitor and control the HVAC system. The result is a learning environment that is as functional and efficient as it is inspiring.
Since opening its doors, Dimondale Elementary has become a hub of energy and innovation. Students are thriving in a space designed for exploration, while staff are discovering new opportunities for collaboration.
“This building has truly transformed the way we teach and learn,” said Shannon Barker, Dimondale Elementary Principal. “Our students feel inspired, our staff feel supported and energized, and our entire school community has a renewed sense of pride.”

Thanks to voter-approved funding in 2021 and 2024, this new facility represents a lasting investment in the future of the Dimondale community and serves as a place where learning is reimagined and possibilities are endless for the next generation of students.
As students and staff wrap up a successful first year at Dimondale Elementary, Granger Construction is proud to have partnered with Holt Public Schools on this high-impact project. We look forward to continuing this momentum with the completion of Sycamore Elementary School in August, just in time for the 2026–2027 school year.
