For more than 30 years, Granger Construction and Dexter Community Schools have partnered to build much more than new facilities. We’ve built a legacy of trust, innovation, and collaboration that has helped transform nearly every aspect of the district’s 360-acre footprint.
That legacy continues as Granger proudly kicks off its fifth consecutive bond program with the district to deliver district-wide upgrades to learning environments, infrastructure, and student experiences over the next eight years.

Dexter Community Schools hosted a groundbreaking event on Tuesday, June 2, to celebrate the launch of the $242 million 2025 Bond Program, the largest in district history. It also celebrates a decades-long partnership that has continually evolved to meet the needs of students, staff, and the community.
That partnership began with the 1993 bond, which brought Cornerstone (now called Anchor) Elementary and Mill Creek Middle School to life. Momentum continued with the 1998 bond program, resulting in the construction of Dexter High School, a major addition to Mill Creek and renovations to Creekside and Wylie to allow reconfiguring the district grade levels. The 2008 bond program provided district-wide infrastructure, technology and facility upgrades including a new synthetic turf field, new team building, and new track and field venue at Al Ritt Stadium, and construction of the bus loop and drive upgrades to separate bus and car traffic at all schools. More recently, the 2017 bond funded Beacon Elementary School, the Twin Turf fields, and a variety of additions and renovations across the district. Together, these projects reflect a powerful, ongoing story that is defined by long-term commitment, continuous improvement, and a shared vision for the future of education in Dexter.
That story enters its next chapter with the first phase of projects under the 2025 bond program. This phase includes a new indoor field house, along with significant safety, security, and infrastructure upgrades, building additions, and campus reconfiguration efforts designed to support age-appropriate and future-ready learning environments.

At the center of these projects is a new 70,000 square-foot indoor field house to be constructed adjacent to the Twin Turf fields at Dexter High School. Designed to support both student development and community engagement, the facility will provide year-round space for instruction, athletics, and training. It will feature a 60-yard turf field, dedicated areas for track and field, wrestling, cheer, and dance, as well as batting cages and team rooms for athletes and coaches. The field house will also serve as a valuable resource for community use, expanding its impact beyond the school day.
Additional projects launching this summer include two high school additions—one to create a new safe and secure main entrance and weight room and another to expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming, including Systems of Construction and Woodshop classrooms. These enhanced, flexible learning spaces will give students more room for tools, equipment, and hands-on experiences, empowering them to take on larger, more complex projects and build real-world skills. At Wylie Elementary, a new addition will provide modern classrooms along with exterior-access restrooms. There will also be improvements to the entrances and facilities at Al Ritt Stadium as well as the baseball, softball and soccer fields at Dexter High School.

At Granger Construction, this work goes far beyond delivering buildings. It’s about creating environments where students and educators can thrive, fostering stronger connections within the community, and helping shape experiences that will impact generations to come.
Future phases of the bond program will bring even more changes across the district. Planned projects include renovations to Mill Creek that will create a dedicated 5th–6th grade building, consolidating younger learners onto a single campus. At Creekside, new construction and major renovations will result in a modern 7th–8th grade facility, complete with a new classroom wing centered on team teaching, and a new theater space designed for both student performances and community events. Additionally, multiple large infrastructure upgrades will ensure district buildings run efficiently to provide optimal teaching and learning conditions for staff and students.
As we look ahead to the next eight years of campus evolution, touching every building in the district, we are honored to continue this journey alongside Dexter Community Schools. Together, we are not only building spaces, but helping to shape the future of learning, growth, and opportunity for the entire Dexter community.
