Meet Mason Czubachowski, a Project Engineer Intern with Granger Construction’s 2025 Summer Internship Program. This summer, Mason worked on the Lenawee County Maurice Spear Campus project, where he gained hands-on experience in both field coordination and project management.
A student at Michigan State University, Mason first connected with Granger at a career fair after noticing several of their projects around campus. “Granger’s size makes you feel included and cared about,” he said. “Everyone I met was welcoming and genuinely excited about my interest in interning.”
Mason’s role kept him busy and engaged. He reviewed RFIs and submittals in Procore, coordinated with subcontractors, and helped with mock-ups and owner training schedules. But what he enjoyed most was being out on site, solving problems and helping subcontractors find practical solutions.
Teamwork and collaboration were a big part of his daily routine. “Every day, our team met to lay out the day’s work, coordinate with subs, create schedules, submit change orders—whatever needed to be addressed,” he said.

He credits his mentors for helping him grow throughout the internship. “Everyone is optimistic and supportive. It made my experience amazing,” Mason shared. He also appreciated how his project manager and superintendent walked him through new tasks and helped him build confidence on the job.
His advice for future interns? “Stay curious, be positive and take time to learn the systems—it makes a big difference.” And the best advice he’s received? “Don’t take life too seriously when you’re young. Enjoy it.”
